Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets, and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream, and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet. 

We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Planner to join our Frozen Bakery team based out of our Viceroy Plant.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Manage work order requests (planning & prioritization), assist maintenance group with new system implementation.
  • SAP/Maximo transactions – creating, processing notifications/work orders and all PM related transactions
  • Develop work tasks, sequences, cost estimates and resource allocations, update and maintain PM/WO records in our computerized maintenance management system.
  • Identify and resolve problems, recommending improvements in the planning process and ensure routine schedules.
  • Provide technical planning, scheduling for short and long range weekend activity and assist groups to ensure optimal maintenance effectiveness.
  • Prepare diagrams and reports reflecting planned work, sequences of events, timelines and resources constraints
  • Work with and provide training for all our information and work management systems this may extend outside the maintenance department.
  • Skills in implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Provide leadership and participate in internal and external audits
  • Work with Mechanics on the production floor to prioritize plant needs and estimate repair downtime and planned PM’s.
  • Track and report on maintenance performance metrics and key indicators
  • Monitor progress of schedules  and work programs
  • Prepare and maintain all records
  • Downtime reconciliation
  • SAP/Maximo labour hours reconciliation &  reporting
 Required Competencies:
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Planner
  • Strong leadership skills
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a food manufacturing company
  • Working knowledge of MS Software and computerized maintenance management systems
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Works well independently and on teams and is self-motivated
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization
