MARKETS:
Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets, and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream, and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet.

The Financial Planning & Analysis team at Bimbo Canada is responsible for the consolidation, analysis, communication and recommendation of overall organizational P&L/profitability to key stakeholders including VP Finance, Bimbo Canada Leadership Team (BCLT) and Grupo Bimbo Corporate.
 
To succeed in this role, the individual is expected to build a breath of business knowledge and gain a deep understanding of key business drivers of financial performance, across Bimbo Canada. This will primarily happen via consistent exposure to and collaboration with, different functional finance teams including Commercial Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Accounting & Controls and Treasury.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The individual will take ownership of the following key Financial Planning & Analysis mandates (not limited to):
 
Annual Budget: consolidation and analysis of comprehensive P&L for Bimbo Canada (Commercial volume, Pricing and Margins, Manufacturing and Logistics spend, SG&A, Non-operational income/expenses, Capital Investment etc.); develop financial building blocks and the complete budget presentation for internal BCLT reviews and official submission to GB Corporate.
 
Strategic Planning : ownership and improvement of Bimbo Canada strategic planning model, in depth understanding of functional strategies underlying multi-year financial projections, development and review/presentation of year-over-year financial building blocks (organic and acquisitions) and comprehensive gap analysis of Annual Budget vs. Strategic Plan.    
 
Enterprise Valuation & Impairment Testing: development of new corporate finance model to perform enterprise valuation (DCF) internally, in depth understanding of valuation performed by external advisors and recommend improvements in their projections/underlying assumptions, review of valuation results and sensitivity analysis with key internal stakeholders and servicing/management of all external auditor queries.
 
Business Performance: proactively undertake value added analysis and deep dives to identify and recommend areas of opportunity for profit enhancement, across the entire revenue and cost structure of Bimbo Canada; effectively leverage financial modeling and scenario analysis, historical trend analysis, peer group benchmarking, financial ratios/KPI’s etc.  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated success in FP&A and/or other Finance business partnering roles, at an organization of significant size and complexity

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance/ Business required
  • Completion of an MBA (Finance), CFA or an Accounting designation (preferably CPA, CMA) required
  • CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) experience strongly preferred, but not required.   
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: 
  • Outstanding numerical comprehension and adeptness at analyzing and interpreting quantitative information
  • Outstanding business communication skills ; proven ability to clearly articulate complex business concepts and its pertinent financial impact to executive level audience
  • High learning capacity: ability to achieve proficiency in new concepts, analytical frameworks, business strategy and acumen within a short period of time.  
  • High energy and results driven; motivated to be flexible to the changing needs of the business and be able to expertly manage competing priorities. 
  • Proven ability to demonstrate cross functional leadership in terms of both supporting and challenging the finance partners; ability to foster strong collaborative relationships to achieve role mandates.
  • Highly advanced skills in Excel (including VBA/ Macros); strong foundation of both excel capabilities and speed.
  • Thorough attention to detail and accuracy is a must
