As an independent business unit of Grupo Bimbo, Canada Bread seeks to grow value-added bakery segments by focusing on health and well-being, and penetrating new bakery segments and channels of distribution. The business will continue to grow market leadership and margins by investing in the premium whole grain product category, and by delivering continued product innovation in other bakery and snack categories.
Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet.
Grupo Bimbo Canada is looking for a Strategic Planner located in Toronto or Montreal area. Working in a deeply human and highly productive environment, this role plays a key role in transforming the baking industry by ensuring products are produced cost effectively and maximizing service to our customers.
  • Ensure that supply can meet demand at the lowest cost across assets nationally.
  • Identify opportunities and lead resolution of capacity constraints, high supply costs and low demand.
  • Cross functional work with various teams to build and communicate supply plans nationally.
  • Play a key role in new product introduction, contingency planning, long term capacity planning, major maintenance planning, seasonal supply build and network optimization. 
  • This role is strategic in nature and requires the ability to work both at the macro and detail level.
  • Ability to lead through influence and leverage others (strong collaboration orientation)
  • The person chosen is recognized for his/her strong problem solving skills, organization and approach to interpersonal relationships.
  • A skilled communicator at all organization levels; he/she is customer oriented and possesses excellent analytical ability as well as a strong capacity for amalgamating multiple sources of information into a comprehensive report and point of view.
  • He/she enjoys teamwork, has the ability to work independently.
  • University – Undergraduate Degree: Operations management, Business administration, Industrial engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of Supply Chain experience, preferably in planning
  • Fluently Bilingual (English and French) (mandatory)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point skills
  • Oracle knowledge
