The business will continue to grow market leadership and margins by investing in the premium whole grain product category, and by delivering continued product innovation in other bakery and snack categories.
Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet.
Canada Bread is looking to hire a Distribution Manager to join our Edmonton team.
• Manage, forecast, and budget all spend related to the distribution centre and investigate and explain root cause behind variances or incremental spend
• Develop, lead, and manage saving initiatives and projects directed at removing cost from the Supply Chain and optimizing the network
• Act as the key liaison for Operations, Sales and Franchisees
• Analyzing, managing, and reporting all service metrics and KPIs related to distribution and warehouse capacity (short and long term)
• Manage the Day to day activities of the distribution department
• Manage lines and associates effectively and resolve immediate issues
• Develop Standard operating procedures & controls
• Improve performance and productivity of production
• Identify and drive objective and measurable cost saving initiative
• Provide support to Continuous Improvement/ Lean initiatives
• Meet Customer Requirements by ensuring on time shipping
• Drive leadership coaching, engagement and development with supervisors & hourly associates•
• Motivate, train, develop, coach, supervisors and front line associates
• Manage collective agreement and labour relation issues
• Responsible for ensuring all supervisors & employees are aware of operating / safety procedures
• Participating in the Recruitment, selection and onboarding of new distribution supervisors and associates
Required Skills & Experience:
• 10 years experience as a Distribution or Logistics Manager in a Food/Packaged Goods Company
• Proven ability to lead a group of people and operate in a changing environment
• Proven ability to develop and engage supervisors and hourly associates
• Experience with complex distribution networks and managing 3PL warehouses and transportation
• University degree (business preferred)
• Professional designation an asset (i.e. CITT, P.Log)                                                         
• Labour relations experience
• Strong financial acumen
• Excellent business acumen with strong negotiation and process development skills
• Experience leading projects and strong project management skills
• Excellent MS Excel and Word skills
• Oracle experience in a Supply Chain capacity
• PC-DATA experience is an asset
• WMS and TMS skills as asset
