MARKETS:
Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet.
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
Sell and deliver bread and other baked products to a group of customers while maintaining store and Canada Bread standards.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate continuously as a Canada Bread Temporary Driver for the purpose of distributing, merchandizing and selling products
  • Service all accounts as per agreed upon schedule and provide prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers and the public and adhere to the highest standards of honesty, integrity, fair dealing and ethical conduct;
  • Your employment requires that you maintain a neat and professional appearance to our customers, suppliers and the public.  All dealings with customers or suppliers must be conducted in a courteous and professional fashion;
  • Properly utilize the CBCL hand-held computer for ordering, invoicing and inventory management. Input all product orders required and satisfy customer needs.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the Territory Manager to review route standards;
  • Adhere to the bank deposit process requirements as defined by the Company;
  • Adhere to the paperwork process requirements as defined by the Company.
  • Be responsible for all operating functions of a Canada Bread route including product inventory management
  • Operate a straight truck. Maintain a safe vehicle and ensure continued compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and MTO vehicle operating requirements.
  • Maintain a clean work space including the warehouse
  • Any other responsibilities as deemed necessary
 EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-2 years sales experience is required preferably in consumer food products
  • Preferred post-secondary education and related experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with driving experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Understanding of a Direct Store Delivery system
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written); actively listens to customers’ needs
  • Interpersonal skills: works well in team environment
  • Selling Skills: ability to identify opportunities, set goals and execute against plan to achieve these goals
  • Integrity: high personal and business ethics
  • Computer Skills: proficient at Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook
  • Flexible and Adaptable: Open to new ideas and approached, can adjust to priorities as conditions change
  • Problem Solving: Proactive use of information and resources, demonstrates a sense of urgency
  • Strong analytical skills i.e. forecasting and planning daily needs of customers
