The Bimbo Canada Procurement team manages significant spend across direct and indirect spend categories including commodities, ingredients, packaging, co-manufacturing, operations, capital, and corporate spend in a fast growing and challenging environment. The team is focused on finding savings and maximizing contribution to the bottom line, lowering organizational risk and providing excellent stakeholder support.  The Procurement team interacts with Grupo Bimbo global category managers and category managers in other regions (ie Bimbo Bakeries USA) to ensure overall supplier and category alignment.

An opportunity exists to join the dynamic team who continues to grow their support to new internal customers and businesses (including Bimbo Frozen and Vachon) and to strategically source new spend areas. The team is progressing towards implementing leading edge sourcing and contract systems and the latest e-Procurement solution.    

The goal for this role is that this team member will work across all direct purchasing areas.   You will work in cooperation with Sourcing Buyers, Managers and Directors to support and manage contracts including collect and analyze data for managing contracts, for identifying opportunities to optimize and for cost savings.  You will work collaboratively with Sourcing teams and plant stakeholders, and see the impact of what you do every day on the bottom line.


Systems and Reporting:
•    Enters pricing contracts into the system ensuring accuracy of the contract terms, conditions and price.  Works closely with Sourcing Buyer, Manager or Director to validate the accuracy of the contract prior to any activity occurring against the contract
•    Serve as a key user for Oracle, becoming an expert with full understanding of tools and systems
•    Utilize Oracle for pricing agreements and reports for analysis & managing contracts, including volume agreements
•    Support analysis of monthly financial results in regards to purchase price variances and currency impact
•    Support creation of reports for Global Procurement reporting and analysis
•    Support vendor master set-up for the Sourcing teams
•    Support invoice discrepancy report creation and discrepancy resolution

Category Management Support:
•    Supports the Buyers, Manager and Director with analysis required for sourcing events and presentations – prepare reports, perform spend analysis and benchmark category spend
•    Handle day-to-day issues that arise in contracts in Oracle and with vendors that you support, including price issues, technical support, invoice discrepancies
•    Work with stakeholders and suppliers to alleviate any problems
•    Identify and initiate process improvements, cost saving opportunities and value add supplier programs between Bimbo Canada stakeholders and suppliers

Purchasing Process Management:
•    Drive standardization of Purchasing organizations, processes and procedures across the company 
•    Assist the Sourcing Teams with other duties and special projects as needed
•    Act as a backup to Indirect Supply Specialist for vacation coverage.  

•    Strong interpersonal skills and able to interact with all levels
•    Strong analytical skills and attention to detail 
•    Strong Systems skills and experience with Oracle an asset
•    Strong time management skills and ability to execute on multiple priorities
•    An Undergraduate degree in a post-secondary institution. 
•    Good communication and problem solving skills
•    Conceptual thinking to understand the total system flow to resolve issues.
•    Ability to understand database structure and build dynamic reports.
•    Solid business judgment, able to anticipate impact of decisions and initiatives
