Position Summary:
 
The Senior Manager plays a pivotal role in leading our S&OP process (Sales & Operations Planning) focusing on working cross functionally with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain functions.  This role has accountability for managing the Regional Demand Planning, National Inventory team. Direct ownership to lead our collaborative forecasting process with internal stakeholders.  This individual will help lead the organization in alignment to demand influencing strategies and tactics which will ensure appropriate demand management actions are put in place to produce exceptional customer service and forecast performance. Ownership to lead and manage the Inventory team nationally and lead improvements with accuracy, compliance and reduce waste. This will also require a close working relationship with the Finance department to identify and report the reason and source of sales waste, excess / obsolete inventory. Full direct ownership and accountability of our National call centre supporting all fresh bread business and our Vachon sweet goods. Responsible to deliver a high level of service while optimizing productivity and integrating Oracle and Web based ordering tools.
  
Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads the Demand Planning team to execute a collaborative forecasting process, sharing of information, addresses issues and reviews team performance.
  • Leadership of the S&OP process with specific focus on driving Demand Signal improvements.
  • Responsible to monitor Demand Planning KPI’s across various levels of hierarchy and address issues / gaps that lead to improvement across the country
  • Responsible to drive more profitable business decisions through Sales & Operations Planning.
  • Works collaboratively with the Leadership Team, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations and Supply Chain leaders.
  • Prepare reports as back up for sales waste dollars shown in the General Ledger at the product level. Analyze variances/anomalies, determine drivers and recommend/implement corrective measures. 
  • Oversee weekly/daily inventory reporting compliance. 
  • Develop, in concert with the responsible managers, SOPs (Statement of Operating Procedures) to ensure compliance with appropriate policies and procedures and to use for training purposes. Follow up on compliance issues; implement remedial action with responsible parties. 
  • Ownership to coach and train associates in the regional sites (DC and Plant) to ensure compliance with Bimbo Canada policies; identify potential audit opportunities, feedback on Franchisee performance/ training requirements.  
  • Coordinate with Sales and Field Sales groups regarding policies on “safety stock” in distribution centers and depots, product sourcing, order lead times, franchisee compliance concerns. 
  • Provide feedback to Production group on process gaps with recommended control measures. 
  • Support Manufacturing and Distribution team on system and supply chain-related issues. 
  • Project work as required. 
  • Ownership for all customer service cost, service and controls nationally.

  • Minimize losses from finished goods waste within the order generation and fulfillment cycle, driving bottom line dollar savings for the Region. 
  • Inventory Control and Monitoring to ensure that all processes are in-control 
  • Issuance of training, coaching, policies, guidelines and of standard operating procedures to correct any inventory control issues 
  •  Process, system, interdependencies and key performance indicator implementation and changes to support the inventory control & monitoring 
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressive CPG Supply Chain Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Demand Planning, Materials Management, Inventory Control, Supply Chain and Production Planning experience
  • Management of a medium sized Supply Chain Team
  • Thorough understanding and have lead Sales & Operations Planning Process.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Materials Management principles, systems and practical application in a Make-To-Order Direct Store Delivery environment in the Bread industry would be an asset.
  • APICS, PLOG and CPIM certifications an asset.
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills and an ability to draw respect from cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of Demand Planning and Sales and Operations Planning processes and strategies.
  • Understanding of Statistical Forecasting models
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills with an ability to understand, dissect and translate data into actionable information to support decision-making, and to make sound judgment calls when data is incomplete.
  • Highly professional and works well under pressure.
  • Ability to travel to meet with regional employees and cross-functional stakeholders Nationally
  • Being bilingual would be an asset.
