We are currently looking for a Category Insights Manager to join our Category & Customer Insights team.  Working as a strategic business partner with Marketing & Sales, the Category Insights Manager is responsible for identifying and providing fact-based category, marketplace, and shopper solutions that drive sustainable and profitable growth.  The position will be situated in our Toronto head office and report directly into the Director of Customer & Consumer Insights. 
 
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
·Leverages category, market, and shopper analytics and knowledge to drive fact-based insights and decision-making across the Commercial organization.
·Identifies growth opportunities through the knowledge of consumer/shopper principles and trends.
·Synthesizes insights to develop Category Sell Stories that drive listing opportunities of new categories/brands/products across channels and customers.
·Optimizes the assortment and layout for main shelf planograms and merchandising displays through a deep understanding of category analytics and merchandising principles
-Generates and continuously improves upon in-market reporting, driving the creation of new tools to help teams better understand their business and identify growth opportunities.
·Continuously strives to drive a Consumer/Shopper Insights mindset and impact across the Commercial organization.
 
Qualifications
-University degree
-5+ years’ experience in insights/analytics/category management at an established consumer packaged goods company, retailer, or research supplier – preferably with Snacking Category experience.
-Experience in Consumer Research, Pricing, and JDA Space Planning are considered an asset, although not mandatory
-Proficient with Nielsen MarketTrack and Homescan syndicated data
-Advanced Microsoft Office skills
-Ability to communicate with data and information in a clear and concise fashion
-Proactive project management and organizational skills
-Strong business acumen, self-motivated and ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
-Positive, curious, creative and innovative thinker with the ability to energize and influence
-Collaborative with the ability to forge strong internal and external relationships
