Safety Culture Job safety is the first responsibility of every individual that is part of an operating team.  Compliance with safety rules, operating procedures, and sound practices is the expectation for all personnel working in the Bakery. 

Product safety, legality and quality are essential responsibilities expected of every employee.  Product safety is freeing the product of any contaminants like chemicals, allergens or foreign materials such as glass, wood or metal.  Legality compliance is meeting regulatory requirements (Canada & US if intended for export) in terms of weight and declaration of ingredients.  Product quality is meeting customers’ specifications and expectations. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure the PM program is properly planned and executed, taking in consideration production schedule and resources available, update and maintain records in computerized maintenance management system (Maximo 7.5)
  • Maintain close liaison with operational personnel and trades workforce to improve overall plant maintenance effectiveness
  • Provide technical planning, scheduling for short and long range weekend activity and assist groups to ensure optimal maintenance effectiveness
  • Prepare diagrams, reports and networks reflecting planned work, sequences of events, timelines and resources constraints
  • Assist Supervisor by specifying, testing and implementing approved changes / improvements on information / work management systems  Work closely with Maintenance Inventory to ensure that all parts and all services are available  Interact with customers and vendors
  • Manage work order requests (planning & prioritization)
  • Maximo transactions – creating, processing notifications/work orders and all PM related transactions 

Compliance / Reporting
  • Track and report on maintenance performance metrics and key indicators
  • Monitor progress of schedules and work programs
  • Prepare and maintain all records
  • Downtime reconciliation, ORACLE labour hours reconciliation and reporting

Office Administration
  • Issuance of work orders

Safety & Wellness
  • Perform work in a safe and healthy manner
  • Participation in ongoing H&S training, audits etc.

Quality & Food Safety
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining product integrity; practicing highest levels of GMP’s and conforming to HACCP pre-requisite program and all associated SOP’s. 
  • Follow Job Responsibilities as per BRC and other regulatory bodies 
  • During the absence of the incumbent, quality and food safety accountabilities in this role are the responsibility of the “Reports to” position/individual as described above.

Housekeeping
  • Maintain work area to exceed expected levels of cleanliness and orderliness and implement GBLS - 5 S culture

Job Qualifications
  • University Degree, Trades Graduate or Experienced Apprentice
  • Educational experience in Mechanical or Electrical Technology is also an asset
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical / electrical trade in an industrial environment preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude; basic understanding of industrial electrical and mechanical equipment preferred
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally throughout the operation
  • Excellent computer skills; use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS Maximo) is an asset
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint
