MARKETS:
Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlets.

We are currently looking to hire a Route Operator in Smiths Falls, ON

Position Summary:
Route Operators are part of the Field Sales team and provide the operation of an established route which includes product delivery and high level customer service to assigned accounts.

Position Responsibilities: 
  • Set up and load orders
  • Operate a 5 ton cube van
  • Deliver product to established scheduled customers
  • Stock and rotate product on store shelves and displays
  • Set up displays and promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners
  • Maintain stock levels by ordering regular and feature items
  • Establish positive working relationships with the primary contacts at each account
  • Generate invoices and maintain responsibility for daily cash settlement
  • Complete fully and accurately all necessary  route paperwork 
Working Conditions:
All workers must follow safe work practices and wear protective equipment.  Associates must be physically fit and able to push/pull up to100 lbs with assistance as well as be able to perform frequent bending, twisting, kneeling and squatting. Our associates must be neat in appearance, organized, confident, self- motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision. Shifts may involve early mornings (3-4 am), overtime, weekends and holidays. 

Requirements:
  • Grade 12 education
  • Valid drivers’ license (drivers abstract will be requested)
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and/or specifications as well as ability to understand directions verbally
  • Have solid numerical skills
  • Ability to work early mornings,  overtime, holidays and weekends
  • Be punctual, reliable and flexible
  • Work safely, wear PPE and follow personal hygiene rules
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment
  • Have a mobile phone
