Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets, and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream, and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated a strong knowledge of payroll concepts, processes and legislation, a problem-solving attitude, strong communications skills and a high level of attention to detail.    
Job Duties
  • Reconcile and remit all Regulatory remittances in a timely fashion(i.e. EHT, WCB, CSST, MHP)
  • Balance and remit all health and welfare and union due payments in accordance to CBA’s and policies (i.e. Hourly BCT Pension)
  • Process all vendor payments as required (Garnishments, ADP Invoices etc)
  • Run Ad Hoc reports as required
  • General Ledger Reconciliation and Journal Entries
  • Audit of Payroll Pay packs
  • Deliver superior customer service, ensuring a maximum of 48 hours turn around for all inquiries arising from questions relating to payroll
  • All other duties as assigned 
  • Post secondary education or equivalent – CPA Designation         
  • Minimum of 5 years payroll experience  
  • Strong knowledge of ADP PCPW, Report Smith Proficiency with MS office software, particularly Excel in Intermediate Level
  • Strong Knowledge in accounting payroll entries
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
  • Aptitude for analyzing problems, brainstorming possible solutions, and implementing a solution
  • Fluent in Canadian (federal, provincial, municipal) employment and payroll related legislation, in particular ESA, CRA, MRQ and Workers Compensation
