MARKETS:

Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the Shopper Team, you will work closely with customer teams to collaboratively plan and develop programs that bring to life the path to purchase and drive shopper conversion & loyalty to our brands.  You will work to ensure that your customers’ agendas are well understood by the marketing team and that the category agenda is well understood by the customer teams.  Additionally, the Assistant Shopper Marketing Manager manages the cross functional review meetings.   
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works as the Assistant Shopper Marketer with focus on Longo’s, Grocery Gateway and Independent accounts.
  • Creates sales materials and merchandising solutions for new launches and initiatives that incorporate the customer’s strategies as well as shopper and consumer insights.
  • Develops and communicates account specific in-store activation programs & creates the trade materials for customer teams and field sales to execute.
  • Manage financials related to custom Shopper Marketing activities.  This includes managing a budget as well as establishing and reconciling KPIs/ ROI for all programs and tactics.
  • Provides guidance to Brand Marketing on effective ways in which to drive shopper engagement on select marketing initiatives.
  • Manage select cross customer partner initiatives including development, communication and execution
  • Runs the cross functional review meetings which entails agenda generation and meeting minutes with detailed actions communicated
  • Supports the Ontario Field sales execution team with timely communication of programs to come
  • Runs the demo programs across all key accounts Nationally
 PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA
  • University Degree in Business preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods environment, in a Customer/Shopper Marketing, Trade Marketing role preferred
  • Excellent communication skills; high energy, enthusiastic with proven people skills and ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to uncover insights
  • Ability to think creatively to solve problems and to bring new ideas to the customer
  • Computer literacy mandatory in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Sense of urgency, hands-on, ability to prioritize workload
