Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets, and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream, and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet.

This position is responsible for leading the Trade spend team through integration of legacy systems to the Oracle Trade Merchandise Application System.

  • Lead team through integration of legacy systems to Oracle TMA module
  • Development and leadership of 6 to 8 Trade Spend analysts and administrators
  • Develop and standardize effective processes and standard operating procedures in accordance with proper controls
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of all period end activities (journals, turnbacks, true-ups etc.)
  • Provide timely and accurate Trade Spend reporting to Management and Sales
  • Facilitate monthly Trade Spend meetings with Sales team
  • Review, analyze and ensure accuracy of customer Trade Spend programs in the TMA module
  • Reconcile and analyze trade deductions for timely resolution and reconcile post audits
  • Lead preparation of the annual Trade Spend budget
  • Coordinate all auditing activities with internal and external auditors
  • Provide ad hoc analysis
  • Accounting designation
  • 5-8 years of experience in a finance role.
  • Prior experience in Trade Spend is preferred but not required.
  • Proven leadership, analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Oracle experience preferred. Must be able to achieve proficiency in new reporting and ERP systems within a short time frame.   
  • High energy and results driven; motivated to be flexible to the changing needs of the business and be able to expertly manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate to Advanced level of Excel proficiency
  • Excellent Communication (verbal and written), problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
