This role will be for the frozen food division of Grupo Bimbo. Wholesome Harvest Baking is the largest North American supplier of frozen, par-baked breads to the retail and food service channels. As an independent business unit of Grupo Bimbo, Wholesome Harvest Baking seeks to grow value-added bakery segments by focusing on health and well-being, and penetrating new bakery segments and channels of distribution. Wholesome Harvest Baking operates 7 bakeries and employs approximately 1,400 Associates across Canada and the United States.

Position Summary:

The Operations Administrator will be an active member of the operations team.  The ideal candidate will be working in close and direct collaboration with the production supervisors helping to ensure that the highest standards of safety, efficient productivity are achieved and will be responsible for the administration of the production data.  The Operations Administrator will help maintain the level productivity, ensure accurate employees schedules and conduct administrative and clerical activities within the production department.
 
Position Responsibilities:
  • Help manage safe, cost effective and efficient production of our products, relying upon quality assurance, maintenance and sanitation resources to continue to improve against standards
  • Assist in the process of hiring of hourly employees
  • Ability to administer payroll functions as required
  • Ability to maintain production scheduling and meet all production deadlines
  • Support and participate in quality assurance
  • Contribute to the health and wellness of the plant by participating in safety initiative
  • Ensuring all production employees are aware of operating and safety procedures
  • Other administrative and clerical duties as required
Position Outcomes:
 
This position provides administrative support to the operations group, providing reports and information to support continuous improvements, initiatives and daily functions.  The position have been developed to aid in the involvement in Continuous Improvement Programs to achieve productivity improvements and to ensure a safe working environment evidenced by an exemplary safety record and compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
 
Required Experience and Education:
  • 1-2 years administrative experience, preferably in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Direct experience in analytical role or related area
  • Some college or post-secondary is preferred
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Kronos)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads to meet all deadlines
  • Team player attitude
  • Show initiative and be able to exercise timely and good judgment in day-to-day business decisions
