Position Summary:
Sr. Financial Analyst – Marketing is responsible for managing P&L accuracy and analysis for new innovation and new business opportunities and providing sound financial advice to business partners in Marketing and Sales.  To be successful this person will need to possess strong business acumen and desire to learn, as well as demonstrate outstanding communication skills.
 Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand the full P&L for each project (new innovation, new business)
  • Own P&L accuracy and analytics for each project, manage timelines to ensure inputs and analytical work are completed on time
  • Work closely with finance peers (costing, logistics, sales) for P&L inputs, challenge assumptions when appropriate.  Understand and communicate inherent risks.
  • Analyze and communicate financials to business partners and work with your manager and business partners to align on a recommendation going forward (ie. go, no go) for presentation to sr. management
  • Ensure costing for new products is recorded properly and timely in Oracle
  • Track and forecast innovation performance, analyze and work with Marketing as required
  • Work with finance peers to provide financial analysis and recommendations related to SKU rationalizations, and formulation changes
  • Corporate innovation reporting
  • Ad hoc analysis as required
Required Education & Experience: 
  • University degree in Business Administration or Commerce
  • 2-3 years finance experience in CPG or like industry
  • Actively pursuing or completed CPA or MBA
 Required Skills & Knowledge:
  • Candidate must be detail oriented and have strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle is considered a major asset
  • Ability to work with independently with  positive attitude and in a professional manner
  • Excellent organizational skills plus ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to summarize key findings to non-financial associates
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel is a must
