Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet.


Position Summary
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for administering payroll and staffing functions at the plant level.
This includes timely and accurate reporting of payroll data for the plant employees.  Integrity and strong attention to detail are crucial for this role.
 
Job Duties
  • Reconcile hours worked in Kronos timekeeper
  • Submit approved hours, vacation, LOA to head office for ADP processing for all production and maintenance staff.
  • Submit payroll adjustments from previous weeks
  • Receive paystubs weekly. Reconcile and submit register to head office, attach notices and distribute paystubs.
  • Field associate inquiries regarding payroll, stat, and vacation entitlement,
  • Submit payroll reports to management team and cost analyst.
  • Create weekly manpower schedule hourly includes scheduling vacations and training for production and maintenance.
  • Daily scheduling, this includes filling any open jobs due to absences and lack of skilled labour.
  • Call for overtime using the existing schedule and skills matrix.
  • Contact union for skilled employees to fill vacant jobs
  • Add entire manpower shifts based on the demands of production
  • Manpower tracking sheet updated weekly.
  • Direct external marking
  • Greeting visitors and sign-in policies
  • Accept courier deliveries
  • Mail distribution
  • Perform work in a safe and healthy manner; 
  • Participation in ongoing H&S training, audits etc.
 
Requirements
  • College Diploma in general business / office administration
  • Direct experience in Accounts Payable
  • Must be able to manage constantly changing priorities and multitasking
  • Record of working successfully as an individual contributor
  • Working on operational efficiencies to ensure compliance with CB practices and budgetary requirements in staffing and payroll
  • Intermediate Excel and word knowledge
  • Knowledge of union contract
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Basic negotiating skills
  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
  • Move between payroll and scheduling
  • Other administrative functions
  • Direct contact with employees for scheduling matters.
  • Proven track record in understanding AP practices.
  • Intermediate computer literacy and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and computer literate
