MARKETS:
Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets, and food service operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream, and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet.
 
 
POSITION SUMMARY: 
 
Position is responsible for the ongoing management of the Food service business within the assigned territories.   Primary focus will be on driving sales results via a combination of direct customer interface and support of assigned Territory Managers’ sales activities.  In addition this individual will ensure customer service expectations are met.
 
TRAVEL: 
 
As required,to build Food service business and support assigned Territory Sales Managers
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with key customers within assigned territories
  • Active management of foodservice accounts within an assigned territory
  • Ability to work cross functionally with  Filed Sales, Operations and Accounts Receivable departments
  • Knowledge of the Foodservice Industry as it relates to the commercial bread industry
  • Experience with a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) system
  • Strong analytical skills i.e. forecasting and planning daily needs of customers
  • Delivery of consistent sales execution plans 
ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Meet or exceed sales targets/ plans
  • Meet or exceed budgeted Management Profit targets/plans
  • Meet or exceed new account acquisition targets
People:
  • Ability to coach  Territory Managers to build their Foodservice market knowledge and sales skills
  • Create a productive work environment through effective communication, listening, participation, organization and follow-up
  • Ability to work across functions for completion of new customer set-up as well as for assigned project work
Service:
  • Provide Gold Standard service to all customers
  • Conduct regular business reviews with all major customers
  • Ongoing Management of  Regional Contracts
  • Establish, monitor and maintain service frequency patterns for all assigned Foodservice customers in a given territory
  • Participate in route re-engineering for territory as required
  • Prepare volume forecasts for given territory i.e. long weekends and holidays 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • University or College degree/ diploma
  • 2-3 years of Direct Service Delivery experience preferred 
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written); actively listens to customers needs
  • Interpersonal skills: works well in team environment
  • Selling Skills: ability to identify opportunities, set goals and execute against plan to achieve these goals
  • Integrity: high personal and business ethics
  • Computer Skills: proficient at Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook
  • Builds commitment and teamwork while maintaining a creative and positive work environment
  • Flexible and Adaptable: Open to new ideas and approaches, can adjust to priorities as conditions change
