The business will continue to grow market leadership and margins by investing in the premium whole grain product category, and by delivering continued product innovation in other bakery and snack categories.

MARKETS:
Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets, and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream, and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlet.
 



Position Summary

 Senior Sales role managing a number of key national customers. 
           
Position Responsibilities: 
  • Business Development – working with customers, internal R&D and marketing groups to develop new business opportunities through innovation and superior selling.
  • Develop and execute annual account plans and strategies.
  • Manage all aspects of Account Base-Communication, Selling, Planning, Trade Spend, and Relationship Building.
  • Accountable for the management of all budgets pertaining to the specified customers including sales volume, profitability and trade spending.
  • Minimum of fifty percent of time spent out of office working directly with customers. Will include local and overnight travel. 
POSITION OUTCOMES: 
  • Achieve budgeted sales and profitability targets for all current customers.
  • Achieve new business stretch targets that drive incremental volume, sales and profit.
  • Manage trade funds as per 2008 budget.
  • Manage SG&A expenses as per budgeted allocation. 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in consumer packaged goods or related industry. Preferred experience in marketing or sales.
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Experience with various distribution models including DSD and Broad-line distribution is an asset.
  • Experience with Healthcare and contract feeder business is an asset. 
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: 
  • Highly motivated individual willing to take on challenges and deliver results.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills able to build strong relationships both externally with key customer contacts as well as internal counterparts.
  • Strong analytical skills able to build sound business cases.
  • Strong computer skills, able to work well with Office products. Oracle knowledge is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
