POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager of Supply Chain Planning for Ontario and the West leads a high-performing team to ensure optimal inventory levels, fill rates, and production targets are met, delivering superior service to customers in the region. This role involves managing strategic bake and delivery plans, supporting cost efficiency, and leading cross-functional teams to drive alignment across Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Supply Planning. With two direct reports (Team Leads) reporting to this position, the Senior Manager provides strong leadership, makes difficult decisions, and drives business results across a complex supply chain network.

A key to success in this role is strong communication, influencing, and leadership skills, coupled with extensive business acumen. This individual will ensure effective collaboration and cross-functional alignment to achieve the best possible outcomes.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the creation of Daily Bake Plans, optimizing costs and sequencing schedules to align with business objectives.
  • Spearhead the use of new tools and processes to improve efficiency, and support national initiatives such as Materials Replacement Planning (MRP) and Distribution Replacement Planning (DRP).
  • Drive performance improvements through monthly discussions on key metrics such as waste, and challenge stakeholders to enhance overall performance.
  • Monitor waste levels across Ontario and the West, leading cost reduction initiatives and plant projects (Sales Waste, War on Waste, SKU Rationalization).
  • Foster a high-performance team culture through strong team-building skills, open communication, and constructive feedback with direct reports, including two directors.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Planning team to address operational disruptions (maintenance, strike contingencies, seasonality impacts).
  • Partner with Demand Planning to refine short-term demand forecasts for capacity planning.
  • Work closely with the Product Development team to support new marketing initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors (e.g., freezers, co-manufacturers) to ensure a reliable supply chain.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Logistics, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Finance to balance organizational needs and drive the best outcomes.
  • Participate in ad-hoc Agile teams to continuously improve business performance.

PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:
 
  • Bilingual in French and English (an asset but not mandatory).
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain management roles, with progressive responsibility.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive strategic initiatives across multiple regions.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to balance short-term demands with long-term objectives.
  • Professional presentation skills, both written and verbal, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills; financial and accounting knowledge is an asset.
  • Competency in MS Office (especially Excel) and Oracle ERP systems.
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certification is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
