Hiring Requirements: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in industrial maintenance, a proactive approach to equipment reliability, and the ability to train and mentor maintenance associates. Additionally, the Senior Maintenance Specialist will receive formal supervisory support and be expected to provide shift coverage.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and provide support/ direction for repair of mechanical and electrical equipment, including gearboxes, motors, lubrication systems, PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and sensors.
Implement and oversee Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), predictive, and on-condition based maintenance
to reduce unplanned downtime.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with potential failures through corrective maintenance prioritization.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring equipment failures and develop action plans to prevent reoccurrence.
Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities are completed correctly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
Training & Mentorship
Train and mentor maintenance associates on industry best practices and preventive maintenance techniques.
Teach associates how to conduct Running Preventive Maintenance (Running PMs) and Online Maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the maintenance team.
Project Coordination & Vendor Management
Work with OEMs and equipment vendors to manage obsolete parts and source replacements.
Provide accurate Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) & Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) estimates to improve maintenance planning.
Coordinate and oversee outside contractors for specialized repairs, upgrades, and project work.
Lead or assist in capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvements to enhance plant operations.
Emergency & Downtime Response
Handle high-pressure situations involving equipment failures and production downtime.
Coordinate emergency repairs and develop contingency plans to restore operations as quickly as possible.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements during all maintenance activities.
Supervisory & Shift Support
Provide supervisory support to junior maintenance staff, ensuring that tasks are prioritized and completed within established timelines.
Offer formal management support by contributing to team performance reviews and improvement plans.
Collaborate with the management team to align on maintenance schedules and staffing needs.
Experience & Education
Minimum 7-10 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, with expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems.
Strong understanding of PLC programming, VFDs, automation systems, and industrial sensors.
Experience with RCM, Predictive Maintenance, and Reliability Engineering principles.
Ability to train and mentor junior maintenance personnel.
Demonstrated experience in project management and contractor coordination.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially in high-pressure environments.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Certifications in Maintenance & Reliability (CMRP, CRL, etc.) are a plus.
Must have Journeyman or Red Seal certification in a relevant trade (Millwright, Electrician, etc.)
