Supervisor, Food Safety & Quality Assurance

This position is a 8-10 month contract. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining facility MCS (Master Cleaning Schedule) frequent reviewing and updating tasks based on internal and external audit findings.
  • Supervising and assigning daily tasks of crew in accordance with training and staffing levels
  • Strategic planning to improve efficiency and overall job flow and sanitation effectiveness
  • Train and uphold the seven steps of sanitation through the sanitation team
  • Insure safe and hygienic practices are executed following all OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) compliance policies and GMPs.
  • Training of the sanitation team to ensure clear communication and understanding of the job requirements
  • Execution of rotational work to ensure timely, efficient and effective execution
  • Selection and purchasing of appropriate sanitation chemicals and equipment
  • Completes appropriate documentation to identify all tasks completed, or required future actions
  • Effectively provide feedback to employees regarding positive work performance and opportunities for improvement
  • Give written disciplinary actions as necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment and material handling
  • Ability to receive and provide training and facilitate employee growth and advancement
  • Enforce GMP’s and Food Safety guidelines, including maintaining an orderly and clean work area
  • Comprehension of impact of his/her job on team productivity and plant profitability, maintains high level of personal productivity and drive work process improvements
  • Monitor, complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork
Experience & Education:
  • Associates degree or equivalent sanitation experience
  • Safety and sanitation certifications preferred
  • Experience with Sanitation program software (Kleanz) preferred
  • Leadership experience in the fresh and frozen produce industry under HACCP, CFIA, SQF
  • 1-3 years of food manufacturing/processing, production or sanitation experience
  • Knowledge of sanitation in a bakery preferred
  • Completion of documentation to meet company SSOP’s and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work on weekend and rotation shifts as needed.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with personnel and peers
  • Ability to self-start and to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills required are basic Microsoft applications
The annual salary range for applicants is: $59,625 - $88,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
