Position Overview:
The Finance Analyst (Trade) will report directly to the Senior Financial Analyst for Trade Finance and will be responsible for the accurate reporting, analysis, and governance of customer trade accruals and trade spend. This role will work closely with Sales, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Commercial Finance to ensure trade programs are accurately reflected, reconciled, and aligned with commercial agreements.

The successful candidate will act as a key user and subject matter expert for trade systems and reporting tools, supporting process improvements, system enhancements, and ongoing business decision-making.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively support trade system initiatives and enhancements, including upgrades and process improvements
    • Support cutover activities, including setup and validation of new trade programs
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with AR, AP, Accounting, Sales, and Commercial Finance to ensure end-to-end process integrity
    • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials, and workflow documentation
    • Support training and knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders
  • Maintain and reconcile customer trade accruals and spend
    • Prepare and maintain customer reconciliation and validation templates
    • Ensure actuals are accurately maintained in financial systems
    • Create, update, and validate rebate and trade payment reports
    • Set up and maintain customer trade spend programs and offers within trade systems
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare monthly trade spend and variance reports
    • Support month-end close activities related to trade accruals and spend
    • Attend and contribute to monthly trade review meetings with Sales and Commercial Finance
    • Proactively identify risks and opportunities related to customer trade spend and recommend corrective actions
    • Build, automate, and optimize trade finance reporting tools and templates leveraging Excel and enterprise financial systems
Experience & Education:
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively across teams and organizational levels
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling; macros an asset)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Prior experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle or similar) considered an asset
  • Experience with trade finance, rebates, or customer programs is preferred
 
The annual salary range for applicants is: $60,000-$80,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
