Hiring Requirements:
We are seeking a dynamic, analytical, and business‑savvy Assistant Manager, Category Insights to support the development and execution of data‑driven commercial strategies that drive growth, profitability, and category performance. In this role, you will leverage multiple data sources to uncover insights, identify opportunities, and translate complex analytics into clear, actionable recommendations.
Reporting to the National Category Insights Lead, you will play a key role in delivering customer‑specific insights for key accounts while supporting innovation forecasting, planogram planning, commercial performance analysis, and capability building across the National Insights team.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities


1. Commercial Performance & Insights
  • Analyze commercial performance across brands, categories, customers, and channels to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Translate complex data into clear, compelling, and actionable insights that influence strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Develop customer‑specific insights for key accounts, tailoring recommendations to regional dynamics and retailer strategies.
  • Support customer‑facing presentations, business reviews, and internal commercial planning discussions.

2. Innovation Forecasting & Distribution Assessment
  • Support customer‑focused innovation forecasting by using syndicated and internal data to refine distribution assumptions and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Category Insights Managers to ensure innovation forecasts reflect market realities and align with customer expectations.

3. Planogram & Space Planning Support
  • Support planogram development and optimization using customer, category, and shopper insights (e.g., space‑to‑sales, days of supply) to improve shelf efficiency, assortment, and visibility.
  • Partner with Sales and Category teams to ensure planograms align with retailer strategies and broader commercial priorities.

4. Data & Analytics
  • Leverage syndicated, customer POS, and internal data to support customer reviews and category assessments, enhance visibility into commercial performance, strengthen customer storytelling, and deliver actionable insights for annual planning and customer strategy performance reviews.

5. Process & Capability Development
  • Enhance commercial insights capabilities by improving processes, tools, reporting efficiencies, and sharing best practices, templates, and insight frameworks across the Commercial team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data utilization, reporting automation, and insight delivery while serving as the team’s AI champion to identify opportunities that improve efficiency, and insight generation.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in Commercial Insights, Category Management, Sales Analytics, Commercial Finance, or Commercial Strategy.
  • Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into compelling insights and stories.
  • Experience working with syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen) is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is an asset.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Action‑oriented mindset with a passion for delivering measurable results.
  • Proactive, performance‑driven, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Innovative thinker with a collaborative approach to problem‑solving.

  • Detail Orientation: Ensures accuracy in reporting, forecasting, and analysis.

The annual salary range for applicants is: $75,000 - $110,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
