Hiring Requirements:
Reporting to the President, Bimbo Canada, the Vice President of National Operations leads the company's Canadian manufacturing and operations organization and is accountable for translating enterprise strategy into safe, disciplined, high-quality, and cost-effective execution across the national bakery network. The role sets the operations agenda, strengthens production capability, optimizes network performance, and ensures reliable supply in support of customer service, profitable growth, and the consumer experience. As a critical leader in a frontline-obsessed organization, the role must continuously evolve how Bimbo Canada manufactures, plans, sources, and improves its operations to meet changing customer, channel, cost, quality, and workforce needs. Key Responsibilities:
Sets the national Operations strategy and operating agenda in alignment with Bimbo Canada's business priorities, growth ambitions, productivity goals, and evolving supply chain requirements.
Provides enterprise leadership for manufacturing execution by establishing clear safety, quality, service, cost, waste, and productivity standards and ensuring consistent performance across the Canadian bakery network.
Monitors operational, customer, market, cost, labour, and supply dynamics and adjusts the operations strategy to protect performance, improve responsiveness, and sustain quality, service, and profitability commitments.
Assumes accountability for the Operations function's financial and operating performance, with disciplined focus on direct product costs, labour productivity, waste elimination, capital stewardship, asset utilization, and operational efficiency.
Leads the safety agenda by role modelling a safety-first mindset, ensuring compliance with internal and external health and safety requirements, and driving visible leadership in support of the goal of zero injuries.
Maintains and enforces food safety, quality, sanitation, regulatory, and internal audit standards across the bakery network, ensuring products are produced safely, consistently, and in line with customer and consumer expectations.
Strengthens the national manufacturing operating model, governance, performance routines, and continuous improvement approach to simplify work, improve execution, and increase accountability.
Leads network optimization, sourcing, capacity planning, and asset utilization strategies to ensure effective use of bakeries, equipment, labour, capital, and third-party partners in support of current and future business needs.
Partners across sales, marketing, category, logistics, distribution, procurement, finance, human relations, and commercial leadership to improve service, quality, landed cost, innovation execution, and dependable customer outcomes.
Provides plant-to-market insight and operational partnership for current and future products, positioning the network to support innovation, growth, margin improvement, and reliable marketplace execution.
Challenges the status quo by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve productivity, reduce waste, modernize ways of working, and strengthen the broader end-to-end supply chain model.
Promotes the responsible use of AI, data, automation, and digital tools to streamline work, improve decision speed and quality, reduce manual effort, and strengthen planning and operations execution.
Builds and sustains a high-performing, frontline-obsessed Operations culture through clear standards, visible leadership, talent development, strong associate and labour relations, and disciplined accountability.
Collaborates with Grupo Bimbo and other regional or global operations teams to share learnings, leverage proven operating practices, and bring a global mindset to Canadian network improvement and transformation.

15+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, including at least 10 years in senior management roles within a large, fast-paced manufacturing or supply chain environment.
Baking industry or other relevant food manufacturing experience, with strong functional knowledge of workplace safety, production, food quality and safety, sanitation, maintenance, labour productivity, and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated success leading a large, distributed frontline organization across multiple sites, building capability, strengthening succession, and creating a high-performing operations culture.
Experience operating in a high-speed supply chain network with responsibility for safety, quality, service, cost, waste, productivity, asset utilization, and network performance.
Strong financial acumen, including experience managing operating budgets, capital plans, productivity programs, direct product costs, and enterprise-level performance commitments.
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI, data, automation, and digital tools to simplify work, strengthen decision-making, improve planning, and increase organizational effectiveness.
Experience working effectively with unionized workforces is preferred, including a practical understanding of associate relations, labour relations, and frontline leadership in a complex operating environment.
Executive-level communication, influence, and change leadership skills, with the ability to build credibility across operations, commercial, logistics, finance, human relations, global partners, and external stakeholders.
Fluency in English is required; fluency in French is a strong asset.
Excellent organizational, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and relevant operations, data, and performance management systems.
