Business Development Manager- Food service is responsible for driving profitable growth by identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities within the food service sector. This strategic leader cultivates key partnerships, expands market presence, strengthens customer relationships and contributes directly to the achievement of the company’s revenue and growth objectives.
By leveraging strong leadership capabilities and extensive sales expertise, the Business Development Manager delivers innovative solutions that address customers’ evolving needs.

Business Development Manager- Food service is responsible for driving profitable growth by identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities within the food service sector. This strategic leader cultivates key partnerships, expands market presence, strengthens customer relationships and contributes directly to the achievement of the company’s revenue and growth objectives.
By leveraging strong leadership capabilities and extensive sales expertise, the Business Development Manager delivers innovative solutions that address customers’ evolving needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales and profitability objectives for Canada and for each customer within the department’s portfolio.
- Manage & develop customer accounts by building strong business relationships and driving new sales opportunities through effective collaboration with various departments across the organization.
- Manage customer P&Ls, including monitoring and controlling key performance indicators (KPIs) such as volume, pricing, and overall financial performance.
- Participate in the development of regional and national strategies in collaboration with the Sr Manager-Food Service.
- Provide support and actively manage selected regional customers by ensuring the execution of detailed business plans, leveraging associated management and control tools, tracking results, and providing appropriate coaching to the Sales Force and key accounts, where applicable.
- Work closely in a cross-functional environment with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and other departments to successfully execute assigned initiatives and projects.
- Analyze market trends, develop forecasts, and identify opportunities as well as potential risks related to Food Service within the region.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, or another related management discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience in a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) environment and/or within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry. A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing Food Service will be considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and the ability to develop creative solutions.
- Strong business and financial acumen with a well-developed understanding of commercial principles and profitability drivers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and effectively manage a variety of business challenges.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, demonstrating strong analytical and synthesizing capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Copilot and other relevant business software.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is considered a significant asset.
