MARKETS:
Canada Bread serves major grocery chains, retail outlets and foodservice operations across Canada. The company distributes branded products in the discount, mainstream and super-premium segments, and is the leading producer in most major bakery categories. It also produces private label products for grocery and foodservice outlets.
 
POSITION SUMMARY:         
The ideal candidate will be a leader delivering upon our KPIs including Safety, Sanitation, Service and Efficiency while delivering to our customers in a timely manner.  Focusing on associate morale and associate co-operation in a unionized environment  
           
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
•           Utilize warehouse management system to optimize for peak performance of the team.
•           Ensure that all associates are aware of the health and safety rules and principles outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and enforce safe operating procedures.
•           Schedule facility maintenance as required.
•           Maintain a positive workplace environment while effectively coordinating loading, transport and all other warehouse activities
•           Handle and communicate issues to depots, the third party carriers and dispatch drivers
•           Ensure that Key Performance Indicators are inline with company objectives thru our internal scorecard.
•           Work closely with experienced staff and equipment to help increase efficiencies throughout the warehouse facilities
•           Utilize the optimal number of hourly personnel to fulfill service requirements while maximizing productivity and minimizing labour costs.
•           Maintain accurate inventory while reducing waste.
•           Effectively handle union relations and including the grievance process
•           The ability to deal with an extremely fast environment, handling pressure situations and to effectively make quick decisions with accuracy
 
 
HIRING CRITERIA
The preferred candidate will possess a post secondary education and/or P.Log/CITT designation with a minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience
•           Previous experience in a unionized food, dairy, beverage or packaged goods industry is a definite asset.
•           Working knowledge of inventory practices.
•           Ability to successfully use MS office for daily operations.
•           The incumbent must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•           Must be willing to work alternating/rotating shift work, as required including weekends
