Product safety, legality and quality are essential responsibilities expected of every associate.  Product safety is freeing the product of any contaminants like chemicals, allergens or foreign materials such as glass, wood or metal.  Legality compliance is meeting regulatory requirements (Canada & US if intended for export) in terms of weight and declaration of ingredients.  Product quality is meeting customers’ specifications and expectations.

 Supervisory of   Maintenance Department
  • Ensure implementation of Preventive Maintenance Program (Maximo)
  • Direct maintenance team.
  • Bring forth new ideas to improve on existing production processes
  • Propose energy conservation ideas
  • Ensure yearly code inspection certificates are acquired (Elec. permit, Boiler inspections, Fire Alarm Inspection etc.)
  • Monitor and report on mechanical downtime.
  • Ensure system for timely completion of Maintenance Repairs and Minor Production Improvements
  • Lead Environmental Sustainability Team
  • Active member of site leadership team.

Environmental Considerations

 Current Challenges:

 Short-Term Expectations/Deliverables:
 @ 3 months
  • Demonstrate understanding of collective agreement
  • Completion of detailed on-boarding expectations as it relates to all functions.

 Necessary, must-have role related knowledge, skills and experience at selection: No more than four (4)
  1. Licensed Electrical / Mechanical Technical Certificate and/or Degree/diploma in engineering
  1. 3-5 years as a supervisor experience & 3 years’ experience in maintenance environment as a qualified tradesperson an asset
  1. Excellent planning, analytical & organizational skills
  1. Strong Leadership and communication skills (both Verbal & Written); Ability to interact with all levels of business Strong oral & written skills, proven ability to communicate in an ESL work environment.

Job Requirements
  • 3-5 years supervisor leadership in manufacturing facility (maintenance department) with the ability to demonstrate a commitment to professional development is desirable
  • Ability to work flexible hours to trouble shoot as required.
  • High standards of integrity, energy level, and self-motivation
  • Experience in building high functioning teams; managing and developing people
  • Proficient Computer Skills in MS Office; Knowledge and working experience of other statistical software and Kronos.
  • Maximo, Oracle, or SAP experience is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and project management skills – financial/accounting experience an asset. Has the ability to read and interpret financial and performance reports
  • Able to work and maintain composure under pressure, meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
