Location: Canada Bread Fresh- Trillium Plant, 745 Nebo Road, Hamilton, ON
Job Purpose: The Supply Chain Planner ensures optimum inventory levels, fill rates and production lean targets are achieved to meet customer needs for their specific plant location by creating an optimized bake plans.  The individual must be able to work independently and act as a leader and a member of a team to deliver products to our customers in the most sustainable and profitable way. This individual will require strong organizational, communication and influencing skills.
Safety Culture

Product safety, legality and quality are essential responsibilities expected of every employee. Product safety is freeing the product of any contaminants like chemicals, allergens or foreign materials such as glass, wood or metal.  Legality compliance is meeting regulatory requirements (Canada & US if intended for export) in terms of weight and declaration of ingredients. Product quality is meeting customers’ specifications and expectations.
Job Responsibilities (What the job holder has to do in order to achieve the job purpose.)

Key Components

Plan Orders, Inventory Levels & Fill rate
  • Create and update the Daily Bake Plans, in the most cost efficient manner, while ensuring schedules are optimized by correctly sequencing the schedule to meet all deadlines and overall company objectives
  • Update all Planning tools as required for new products,      discontinued products, and supply network changes
  • Run DRP, and create appropriate ISO’s (STO’s) and deliveries, for all out bounds
  • Email the daily bake plans and maintain a continuous flow of communication to all stakeholders
  • Regularly visit the production floor to collect stocks, shortages and feedback from the team
Projects, PDP, Team Work
  • Participate in cost reduction initiatives and plant projects (Sales Waste, War on Waste, SKU Rat, Oracle implementation etc)
  • Maintain a constructive and high-performance team environment through excellent interpersonal team building skills, open communications, encouraging input and constructive feedback
  • Work with Product Development Team to support PDP initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Supply Chain Planning, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Logistics and Finance as required
Medium & Long Term Planning
  • Collaborative planning with Logistics, Sales and Operations for 1-3 week planning horizon and long weekend planning or other special requirements (ie. downtime to complete capital projects)
  • Long-term Planning: Support end-to-end Master Planning activities in all regions for Tortillas, English Muffins and Mecatherm portfolio
Health & Safety
  • Perform work in a safe and healthy manner
  • Participation in ongoing H&S training, audits etc.
Quality & Food Safety
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining product integrity; practicing highest levels of GMP’s and conforming to HACCP pre-requisite program and all associated SOP’s.
  • Follow Job Responsibilities as per BRC and other regulatory bodies
  • Maintain work area to exceed expected levels of cleanliness and orderliness and implement 5S culture.

  • At times, conflicting priority from multiple areas. The need to make decisions quickly under pressure. Lots of pressure from production facility and supply chain.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Business degree preferred).
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certification an asset
  • 2-3 years in a Manufacturing planning role.
  • Professional presentation: written and oral communications; organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • MRP/MPS/DRP experience desirable
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • High standards of integrity, energy level, and self-motivation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and project management skills – financial/accounting experience an asset.
  • Strong customer focuses and conflict management skills.
  • Manufacturing logistics experience an asset.
  • Operations and/or materials experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills: competent with MS Office suite of software programs.
