Translate a variety of written materials from English to French, including advertising material, web site content, point of sale materials, correspondence, employee and consumer communications, technical documents and reports. Proofread materials for various areas of the company. Support the coordination of workflow for the Translation Department.
Coordinate workflow for the Translation Department by prioritizing requests, negotiating due dates with customers and in-house or external Translators to ensure that jobs are completed on time.
Manage requests and translate documents from English to French and occasionally from French to English, ensuring quality and accuracy of translations in accordance with Quebec’s French Language Charter and industry standards, as assigned.
Provide verbal translations, as needed.
Maintain and utilize MultiTrans software as a translation tool and data base to streamline translation process and improve department productivity.
Upload English and French documents to MultiTrans server on a regular basis to ensure translation files are up-to-date and accurate.
Other duties, as assigned.
Customer expectations for quality and timing are met.
Printed material and translations are accurate, timely and meet legislative requirements.
MultiTrans software is utilized to its full potential.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
University degree in French translation, or equivalent
Minimum of 3-5 years of full-time translation experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Fully bilingual in French and English
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well with multiple priorities within tight deadlines, process-driven and have strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and translation tools
Well-developed problem-solving, planning and organizational skills
Experience in the food industry is an asset
