Receiving Supervisor

Hiring Requirements:
The Receiving supervisor will oversee all receiving operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of raw materials, packaging supplies, and supplies. The role involves supervising receiving staff, maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards, and optimizing warehouse operations. The Receiving supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring seamless supply chain operations and contributing to the plant's overall performance.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing company safety protocols, ensuring the team works in a safety culture environment, and reinforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP.
  • Manage day to day activities and supervise the receiving team, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and adherence to company policies.
  • Provide performance feedback, conduct training, and manage disciplinary actions as needed
  • Oversee the reception of incoming shipments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, meeting all quality standards and completing related documentation
  • Monitor and improve inventory accuracy, minimize write-offs, and align receiving practices with production requirements
  • Optimize warehouse operations, including housekeeping standards, ingredient allocation, inventory control, and management of stock
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of KPI's related to ingredients consumption, inventory stock and any other KPI related to the ingredients warehouse operation.
  • Collaborate with transport dispatch, other plants, and third-party vendors to coordinate logistics and maintain smooth operations
  • Support accident investigations, WSIB case management, and ensure the safe and early return to work for injured employees through modified duties where applicable
  • Use analytical skills to define, justify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and innovative solutions within the department
  • Serve as the primary contact communication related to receiving operations
  • Follow job responsibilities as per BRC and other regulatory bodies
  • Other duties as described by the Plant Director


Experience & Education
 
  • Engineering degree or equivalent, showing strong technical knowledge of pneumatic transport systems.
  • 2 – 5 years of leadership experience – supervisory or team lead
  • Ability to develop and maintain supportive cross functional relationships
  • Ability to read and interpret financial and performance reports
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including afternoon shifts and weekends to meet operational needs
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, knowledge and working experience of Oracle, Kronos and other statistical software
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and health & safety regulations
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making under pressure
  • Experience in building high functioning team, managing and developing people
