Hiring Requirements:

As a Senior Marketing Manager, you will support cross-functional teams to develop and implement integrated positioning strategies that commercialize new products and maximize brand exposure for all of Dempster’s & POM (Pantry, Tortillas, Bagels, etc.). This role encompasses the comprehensive management of Dempster’s & POM bread portfolios, including overseeing brand P&L, launching innovative products, and supporting the development of strategic brand plans. This position requires someone who is entrepreneurial, has a passion for food, the customer and consumer. This position requires someone who has exceptional relationship building skills, strong knowledge of how the Canadian grocery industry operates, strong strategic skills, problem solving skills, business analytical thinking, good communication skills and project management skills (i.e., Working closely with cross functional stakeholders).


Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Primary responsibility is to develop the annual marketing plan for Dempster’s/POM working with our sales team and our major customers.
  • Manage the Inter-agency team comprised of packaging, creative, media and PR agency partners
  • Strategic lead for respective category for business reviews, marketing plans, and customer presentations for Dempster’s/POM.
  • Lead the overall social media strategy for the Dempster’s and POM brands
  • Accountable for budget management and reporting (processing, tracking, reporting)
  • Oversee product launches including innovation/renovation explorations, packaging improvements & development of sales materials.
  • Work with cross functional teams primarily production, supply chain, purchasing, sales on several projects (i.e., innovation, product renovation, packaging updates, sales presentations, and communication plan etc. (both internally and externally).
  • Ensure the team completes Periodic/Monthly reporting of business performance to identify key performance drivers, opportunities, and potential threats for the brands/segments.
  • Work with insights to gather and analyze relevant market data (Margin Minder, Nielsen, Numerator) to identify & action insights as required.
  • Develop, recommend, and execute appropriate consumer and customer strategies/ tactics associated with new product launches (this includes packaging and customer sell story).
  • Develop sound Commercial strategies and lead multidisciplinary teams that include Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, R&D, Supply Chain, and Category Management to achieve outlined objectives.
  • Manage Dempster’s/POM portfolio for profitable growth through sku rationalization & efficient SKU assortment
  • This position may require some travel (less than 5%)
Experience & Education:
  • Degree in Marketing, Business or related field
  • +7 years of related professional Brand Marketing Experience in the CPG Industry
  • Demonstrated ability to develop commercial initiatives and lead cross functional teams
  • Solid business acumen with proven experience in the P&L and budgeting process
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to work on high performance teams
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers
  • A strong team player, with well-developed “people interaction” skill set
  • Requires the ability to adapt to changing market dynamics & comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Adept with Microsoft Office and AC Nielsen
  • Contributes to a positive team culture that is based on trust, mutual respect and valuing each other
