Maintenance Manager – Stonemill & Rivermede

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure implementation of Preventive Maintenance Program (Maximo) 
  • Formulate CER’s (Capital Expenditure Requests) for the electronic approval process 
  • Direct mechanic/electrical team, Maintenance Supervisors, administrator and purchaser. 
  • Manage, design & implement capital projects 
  • Bring forth new ideas to improve on existing production processes 
  • Propose energy conservation ideas 
  • Ensure yearly code inspection certificates are acquired (Elec. permit, Boiler inspections, Fire Alarm Inspection, Ammonia systems, etc) 
  • Monitor and report on mechanical/electrical downtime. 
  • Ensure system for timely completion of Maintenance Repairs and Minor Production Improvements 
  • Lead Environmental Committee and the implementation of the Manufacturing excellence chapter 
  • Active member of site leadership team. 
  • Coordinate capital assignments and contractors’ activities as required 
  • Report machinery efficient operation – shift incidents/performance to team. 
  • Budget - Crewing, efficiencies, downtime etc. 
  • Monitor and report on inventory status. 
  • Champion Grupo Bimbo Lean systems (GBLS) by participating in projects, Incorporating Lean philosophy & tools into every day work. 
  • Department Budget control with approval from Operations Manager. 
  • Develop yearly maintenance budget. 
  • Monitor and report on budget status. 
  • Perform work in a safe and healthy manner;   
  • Participation in ongoing Safety & Wellness training, audits etc.;   
  • Facilitates Safety & Wellness Policies 
  • Accident investigations 
  • Ensure contractor compliance as it relates to plant safety program orientation and confidentiality statements 
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining product integrity; practicing highest levels of GMP’s and conforming to HACCP pre-requisite program and all associated SOP’s.  
  • Follow Job Responsibilities as per BRC and other regulatory bodies  
  • Internal and external audits 
  • Follow up on CAR’s (corrective action responses) 
  • Member of site Food Safety Committee 
  • Active participate in Food Safety initiatives including implementing policy’ and procedures. 
  • During the absence of the incumbent, quality and food safety accountabilities in this role are the responsibility of the “Reports to” position/individual as described above. 
  • Maintain work area to exceed expected levels of cleanliness and orderliness and implement 5 S culture 
  • Other duties as described by your manager. 
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Licensed Electrical / Mechanical Technical Certificate with Degree/diploma in engineering 
  • 3-5 years supervisor leadership in manufacturing facility (maintenance department) with the ability to demonstrate a commitment to professional development is desirable  
  • Strong Leadership and communication skills (both Verbal & Written); Ability to interact with all levels of business Strong oral & written skills, proven ability to communicate in an ESL work environment. 
  • Strong Time Management skills. With proven ability to oversee multiple facilities with varying priorities.   
  • Maintenance management skills in a 24-hour operation unionized environment 
  • Efficient operations of equipment & preventative maintenance system
  • Ability to develop and maintain supportive cross functional relationships
  • Ability to work flexible hours to trouble shoot as required.
  • High standards of integrity, energy level, and self-motivation         
  • Experience with Lean Systems methodology & tools an asset 
  • Proficient Computer Skills in MS Office; Knowledge and working experience of SAP, Oracle, Maximo or other software, Kronos & AS400 an asset            
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and project management skills – financial/accounting experience an asset. Has the ability to read and interrupt financial and performance reports
  • Able to work and maintain composure under pressure, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment             
  • Ability to demonstrate values consistent behaviour
  • Experience in building high functioning teams; managing and developing people
