Key Responsibilities:
Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of equipment and resources while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Proactive in the elimination of workplace accidents and injuries.
Maintain quality and legislative requirements by adhering to and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices GMP, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures SSOP, and Standard Operating Procedures SOP, British Retail Consortium BRC.
Responsible and Accountable for tracking daily visual and swab audits making the appropriate individuals aware of any deficiencies with regular feedback.
Plan, direct, engage and understand daily and non-daily sanitation operations while anticipating and troubleshooting sanitation problems.
Complete sanitation plan by scheduling and assigning employees, establishing priorities, revising schedules, and resolving problems.
Oversee the dismantling, cleaning, reassembly and sanitizing of equipment, utensils in this plant environment.
Plan, conduct, and document monthly departmental Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation issues/changes.
Must be knowledgeable and be able to follow GMPs, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements
Experience & Education
Post-secondary diploma and/or degree
Two years of supervisory work experience working in a unionize facility.
Experience with HACCP requirements, sanitation procedures, cleaning systems, chemicals, and health & safety
British Retail Consortium BRC experience would be an asset.
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict.
Able to manage and build a team independently.
Well established organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
Self-starter with good analytical and problem solving skills.
Continuous learner and willingness to embrace change.
Required to work on all shifts and weekends
