Position Overview:
The Senior Manager, Supply Planning leads end‑to‑end planning operations across Ontario and Western Canada, ensuring efficient production, optimal inventory levels, and strong cross‑functional alignment. This role oversees the creation of cost‑optimized Daily Bake Plans, drives waste‑reduction and SKU rationalization initiatives, and champions the adoption of advanced planning tools and national processes such as MRP and DRP. As a key orchestrator across Operations, Logistics, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product Development, the Senior Manager proactively manages operational risks, refines short‑term demand inputs for capacity planning, and ensures supply readiness for new product launches. The role also manages critical external vendor relationships and fosters a high‑performance team culture, providing strategic leadership to planning teams (including 4 direct reports) and contributing to agile, continuous‑improvement initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership & Daily Planning
  • Lead the team to successful development of daily and strategic planning, optimizing cost, efficiency, and production sequencing to support operational and commercial objectives.
  • This role will oversee MRP Planning, Supply Planning and Strategic (12 month) Planning groups.
  • Focus on process optimization and continuous improvement
Process & Systems Improvement
  • Champion the adoption of new planning tools and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency, while supporting national initiatives including Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP).
  • Participate in agile, cross‑functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and elevate business performance.
Performance Management
  • Lead monthly performance reviews focused on key metrics—such as waste, service, and capacity—to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and drive continuous improvement across regions.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the Strategic Planning team to anticipate and mitigate operational disruptions, including maintenance downtime, strike contingencies, and seasonal variability.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning to refine short‑term demand forecasts, enabling more accurate capacity planning and improved service reliability.
  • Work hand‑in‑hand with Product Development to ensure supply readiness for new product launches and marketing initiatives.
Vendor & Network Management
  • Manage relationships with external partners—including freezer providers and co‑manufacturers—to ensure consistent supply availability and mitigate operational risks.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Build and sustain a high‑performance culture by fostering open communication, accountability, and professional growth across the supply planning organization, including direct leadership of two director‑level reports.
Enterprise Collaboration
  • Lead cross‑functional alignment across Logistics, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Finance, balancing competing priorities to deliver optimal business outcomes.
Experience & Education:
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain management roles, with progressive responsibility.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive strategic initiatives across multiple regions.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to balance short-term demands with long-term objectives.
  • Professional presentation skills, both written and verbal, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills; financial and accounting knowledge is an asset.
  • Competency in MS Office (especially Excel) and Oracle ERP systems.
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certification is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
 
The annual salary range for applicants is: $120,000- $145,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
